Weather Update  (Southern California)

Coastal temperatures are expected to climb into the 90s on Wednesday and Thursday due to offshore flow and an usually strong upper level high pressure centered over the coast. Locations near inland coastal hills and valleys could locally reach 100... while beaches could be in the mid to upper 80s for a brief period. Temperatures in some locations of southwest California coastal... inland valleys and mountains could reach or approach record levels. These readings are 10 to 20 degrees above normal.
The hottest day for the beaches is expected on Wednesday. Even though the immediate coast will be the same or slightly cooler on Thursday... locations just inland and across the inland valleys... mountains and deserts will experience the hottest temperatures on Thursday. It will cool only slightly for inland areas on Friday but will likely be slightly hotter for the deserts. Coastal areas will begin a notable cooling trend on Friday... which will continue into the weekend as a cold front approaches.

It is important to note that temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday could reach near 100 degrees for coastal areas... and into the 90s for the immediate coast. Offshore winds will also create breezy conditions in the passes and canyons starting Tuesday night and continuing on Wednesday... as well as low humidity.
